A Child-Centered Approach to EBP: Updating Your Occupational Therapy Tool Kit With F Words

If you’re an OT or PT who is ready to improve participation and outcomes for their clients, there may be one thing you’re missing in your occupational therapy tool kit…

The F words.

If you haven’t heard of the concept of the F words before, it’s time to dive in!

The idea of the F words was originated by Dr. Peter Rosenbaum and Dr. Jan Willem Gorter of the CanChild research center and identifies 6 key factors that can help us as therapists as we strive to use a holistic approach that focuses on the most significant factors of child development.  These factors include: Fitness, Functioning, Friends, Family, Fun, and Future.

Find free information, tools, and downloads about the F words on the CanChild website.

The CanChild research center also offers trainings on this topic. You can find information about upcoming trainings here.

Using the F words as the foundation, this course shows OTs and PTs how to identify the strength of the evidence they use to support their practice using the Traffic Light System.  The course describes highly rated evidence-based interventions, showing how they relate to the F words.

Are you ready to translate knowledge into practice with a child-centered approach and add this to your occupational therapy tool kit?

Are you overwhelmed by evidence based practice and looking for a simple way to look at research to determine if it’s a fit for your clients?

This 2-hour course is for you!
